  • Parade - The Gift Shop, anonymous (guest) wrote 10 years ago:
I was treated extremely rudely in this shop, and I will not only not recommend anyone to visit this shop, but I also never, ever come back. The customer service is beyond unacceptable, I had a tea in a sealed plastic cup, and I was not aware that it was not allowed, as I also did not see a food/ drink sign at the front of the shop. The shop assistant shouted at me, saying "scuse me, get out". I am making plans to make a complaint with the Cambridge tourism board. I had no intention of breaking rules as a dutiful citizen. I do not believe anyone has the right to treat an individual or a customer this way.

In my day the Master was the well known ex-politician Rab Butler. One day a friend of mine was bet he wouldn't go and ring the door bell then run away. As it turned out Rab was just inside the door, and opened it immediately, catching my friend. But far from angry, Rab (then Lord Butler) invited my friend in to the Lodge for a late night drink! What a nice guy!
